Adams County Chamber of Commerce Honors 2025 Scholarship Recipients
The Adams County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 Scholarship Awards: Alanna Mays of North Adams High School and Carson Reed of Peebles High School. These exceptional students were recognized during a celebratory dinner held at the American Legion Post 633 in Seaman, Ohio, catered by BeeKay Sweets.
The Chamber Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate exemplary academic achievement, leadership, and a strong commitment to community service.
Alanna Mays, daughter of Star and Jamie Mays, is a graduating senior at North Adams High School. She plans to attend the Ohio University College of Business to pursue a degree in Marketing and Business with a focus on Strategic Leadership. A dedicated student and leader, Alanna has maintained perfect attendance since preschool, served as class president, and was a varsity cheerleader. She also works as a studio producer at C103 Radio, interns with Paul Hall & Associates, and provides private tutoring. One reference describes her as “a high-performing individual who is trustworthy, reliable, goal-oriented, and a true leader in every sense of the word.”
Carson Reed, son of Casey and Chris Reed, will graduate as valedictorian of Peebles High School. He will attend Shawnee State University to study Business. Carson is the founder and operator of Reed’s Mowing and Landscaping, which he has grown from five clients to over thirty. A talented athlete, he has scored more than 500 points and recorded 250 rebounds in two seasons of varsity basketball. A reference noted, “In the classroom, Carson is an exceptional performer and among the best this school has ever produced, due to both his natural talent and his conscientious, hardworking nature.”
“These scholarships are a testament to the caliber of students we have in Adams County,” said Randi McFarland, Business Coordinator of the Adams County Chamber of Commerce. “Alanna and Carson are shining examples of academic excellence, leadership, and service. We are proud to support their next steps and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will undoubtedly make in their communities.”
The Chamber extends sincere thanks to its 2025 scholarship sponsors—Southern Hills Community Bank and National Bank of Adams County—for their continued investment in the future of Adams County
